Things to Consider While Waiting on the IC Regulatory Changes
As we discussed a couple of months ago in our blog “Coming Soon: IC and OT Regulatory Changes,” we are getting ready for the anticipated final rule on Employee/Independent Contractor Classification. As soon as the final rule is available, we will be working with Littler to determine the changes that will need to be made to Navigator IC and execute the updates as quickly as possible. You may be wondering if there is anything you can do now in preparation for the updates, so we wanted to give you a few things to consider while we wait to see what happens with the final rule.
Make sure you are comfortable with Navigator IC so you can use the solution as efficiently as possible. We have a variety of resources available to help you, including our Live Open Office Hours and the Navigator IC section on the Knowledge Center. If you need additional help, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at support@compliancehr.com.
If there are evaluations you need to run now, don’t wait! It is important to stay compliant both before and after the final ruling, and in case the timelines change or regulatory changes don’t take effect soon. If you think the risk of a position’s classification may change as a result of the regulatory changes, you will have the option to copy that evaluation and re-run it after Navigator IC has been updated.
Finally, keep your eye out over the next couple of months for further communications regarding the final ruling and some exciting new Navigator IC functionality.
